Where Students Become the Magicians
Rosanna Valentina’s Artist in Residence (A.I.R) Magic Program transforms a school into a place where imagination, creativity and performance come alive.
This exciting residency begins with a magical teaser performance that introduces students to the wonderful world of illusion, storytelling and stagecraft.
From there, Rosanna works with each grade level, teaching age-appropriate magic skills and guiding students through the creative process of becoming performers themselves.
Students learn simple but powerful magic effects that are while developing confidence, and eye coordination, presentation skills and teamwork.
What Students Experience Throughout the residency, students explore the magical arts through:

creative performance and storytelling
stage confidence and presentation skills
collaborative performance preparation
imagination and creative thinking
Each year level learns material suited to their abilities so every child can participate and shine.
The Grand Finale: The Magic Circus
The residency culminates in a spectacular family ‘Magic Circus’ performance, where students share their newly learned magical talents with family, friends and the school community.
This joyful event combines:

The result is a vibrant, laughter-filled show that celebrates creativity and gives students the unforgettable experience of performing on stage.

Artist in Residence Magic Program – Creative Arts Incursion for Schools
How the Artist in Residence Program Works
1. The Magical Teaser Show
Rosanna begins the residency with a lively magic performance that sparks curiosity and introduces students to the world of illusion and storytelling.
2. Magic Workshops for Each Grade
Each class learns age-appropriate magic tricks and performance skills, encouraging creativity, confidence and teamwork.
3. Rehearsal and Creative Development
Students practise their magical skills in 2 x 45min sessions (and a possible 3rd 45min if needed) to develop their characters as performers & costumes, preparing for the big show.
4. The Magic Circus Performance
Turning students into magical performers, sparking the imagination by creating costumes and characters for their performances. Each class contribute to the creation of a back drop and some stage props to complete the production with teamwork.
The residency concludes with a joyful family ‘Magic Circus’, where students perform their magical talents alongside Rosanna with curated music for each act, in a colourful stage celebration for families and the school community.
